Resumo

The “Bacharacher Oldtimer“ is a senior gymnastics group from Bacharach, a little old town on the river Rhine, that was founded 43 years ago by some local gymnasts. Due to the success of their Mini-Tramp performance the group still exists today. From the original line-up there are still three persons present: Wilfried (81), Heinz (76), Horst (75). For different reasons the formation of the group has changed during the last decades. Nowadays the following members are performing: Joachim (59), Eric (53), Bernd (45) , Henning (40) and also Elke (52), the only woman in the team. All of them practiced gymnastics at different levels in their youth and have tried to keep in shape as good as possible. The team performs nationally and internationally and is always admired for its fitness, that is the necessary basis of the spectacular elements of its demonstration. The presentation itself is a program that has continuously been adapted over the years to the respective circumstances. Imagination, high ability and trust in the team members are required to create a rapid form of presentation – although the single elements may be simple. Abstract of the workshop - The aim of the workshop is to compile a short choreography at the min-tramp together with the participants. As an entrance and motivation phase the current performance of the team is to be shown. Now it is necessary to add simple gymnastics and acrobatic elements together, that may be known from preschool and school gymnastics, also using rings, ropes, balls and other usual equipment of gymnasiums. Thus it is made sure, that everybody – irrespective of her/his conditions – can be integrated into the program. Specific senior citizen aspect of the course - Even if one is not yet active as 40+ in gymnastics skills, the mini-tramp jumping can offer a good motivation to start with it. Beside undisputed positive health effects, which every sport offers, some special effects of mini-tramp exercises are obvious. Running and jumping are generally accepted as an osteoporosis prophylaxis. The mini-tramp has found access in therapy and prevention. In Germany practicing the landing after jumps at the mini-tramp is considered as a form of fall prevention program for seniors. It is expected that training different sorts of gymnastic skills will develop a certain routine that can prevent serious injuries after falls often occurring in the domestic area. Just as other gymnastic movements continuously practicing mini-tramp and other gymnastics-skills counteracts increasing immobility and impairment at higher age – just with a lot of joy and intensive social contacts.
