* Do not forget that if you want to participate to the next General Assembly (February 12, 2014 during the AIESEP World Congress in Auckland, see below), you need to validate your 2014 (institutional/individual) AIESEP membership before December 12, 2013. * The 2014 AIESEP World Congress will be held in Auckland (NZL) February 10-13. The theme of the Congress is “Educating for active healthy citizens.” Abstract reviewing is on progress. Accepted authors must register by 28 October, 2013; Early-bird registrations close 29 November, 2013. More info on: www.aiesep2014.com.
 
* Additionally, there will be a Pre-Congress Symposium before the AIESEP World Congress on February 9, 2014 in Auckland, NZL organized by the TGfU Special Interest Group “Using TGfU to promote active and healthy citizens”. This special one-day symposium will focus on the latest research and advances in teaching games framed by TGfU approaches. It provides a special opportunity for teachers to mix with leading TGfU experts from around the world. For more information please visit www.tgfu.info
 
* On 16-17 February 2014 (immediately after the AIESEP World Congress in Auckland), the University of Canterbury (NZL) will organize an International Symposium on Physical Education & Sport Studies ‘Physical Education and Sport: Current dilemmas and future possibilities’. * The 2014 Young Scholar program will offer four grants aiming to support the participation of young researchers to the 2014 AIESEP World Congress in Auckland. Eligibility Criteria: Researchers at their early stages of scholarly development (during the latter portion of their graduate studies or a few years post Ph.D. completion). Applicants must be AIESEP members, reside and study outside of the conference hosting country (in this case must reside outside New Zealand). If selected, the Young Scholar will be expected to: (a) Present a short paper (oral or poster), and (b) Participate in a special meeting hosted by AIESEP during the conference. No more than one awardee from any one country and the number of grants depends on specific yearly budget.  To apply, please submit: (a) CV, (b) one page description of intention for future involvement in Sport Pedagogy, (c) proof of status as PhD student or faculty member, (d) abstract of presentation, and (e) a letter of recommendation from an AIESEP Fellow (these individuals are listed on the AIESEP website). The application, via e-mail, should be addressed to the head of committee (Prof. Bryan McCullick - bamccull@uga.edu) no later than the December 15, 2013.

* Recall: The NAKHE (host), AAHPERD, ACSM, AIESEP, AKA, & NAK collaborative conference will be held on January 8 – 12, 2014 at the Bahia Resort Hotel - San Diego, CA (USA). The theme of this major event is “STEPS into the Future: Exploring Opportunities and Facing the Challenges of the 21st Century.” Details are available at www.NAKHE.org.
 
* Deadline for abstracts submission of the 8th ARIS Biennial (Association for the Research on Intervention in Sport) is on December 15, 2013. ARIS is one privileged partner of AIESEP gathering Sport Pedagogy researchers of the French speaking world, open to all nationalities. * No. 65 of ICSSPE’s Bulletin is now available. This edition of the online journal devotes a Special Feature to the concept of physical literacy and its role in the context of physical education, physical activity and sport. The section contains contributions on various aspects of the concept including its historical background and definition; pedagogical implications; physical literacy throughout different phases in life and with regard to particular populations; the relationship of physical literacy with coaching, health or creativity; the role of physical literacy in teacher education; and the profile of physical literacy in a number of countries. The Special Feature was designed, compiled and reviewed by Margaret Whitehead and Symeon Dagkas, The Bulletin is available for free to all ICSSPE members and can be accessed through the membership area on the website. AIESEP members can find the username and password in the AIESEP members’ corner (Other resources).

* H.V.P. Mandal Amravati (India) and its College of Physical Education (through its Post Graduate Department) publish a Quarterly Research Journal titled Research Bi-Annual for Movement. It is published in April and October every year. The October 2013 issue (Vol. 30, No.1) has been released recently. The Editorial Board of this journal has proposed to form a new 'Advisory Council' for the period 2013-2015 and it now seeks for 1-2 candidates from the ICSSPE network, who would work voluntarily. This is with the purpose to elevate standard of the publication and its wide circulation; secondly to review the research papers prior to their publication in the journal.  Individuals who are interested may contact Dr. S.H. * In 2010, the EAEAC, EU DG Education and Culture, financed the eLearning Fitness Project (eLF), based on the EHFA EQF-Fitness standards. Today, the eLF Network is composed of 19 principal Partners and over 90 Associate Partners in 27 countries. The eLF project, which will terminate at the end of March 2014, has two goals: (1) To create a European e-learning training system for fitness professionals in 16 languages, covering minimum standards for theory (knowledge), practical skills and competencies based on EQF Levels 3 and 4; (2) - To create a network of National Registers of Exercise Professionals, which will connect with international registers and be affiliated to ICREPs (International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals).
