Palermo Defender Moris Carrozzieri Slapped With Two Year Ban - Report The centre-back will have plenty of time to reflect on his mistake... 9 Jul 2009 16:10:03 Palermo defender Moris Carrozzieri has been handed a two-year suspension for drug use, according to ANSA.

The 28-year-old tested positive for cocaine following on April 23, following the match against Torino, that ended 1-0 in favour of the Rosanero.

He was immediately suspended for an indefinite period, but now his official sentence has been handed down by the court of CONI after his national anti-doping trial and he will not be able to return to football until the spring of 2011.

Carrozzieri had been having perhaps the best season of his career in 2008-09 before the ban took place, even being linked with a move to giants AC Milan at one point.

He has also played for the likes of Atalanta, Sampdoria, and Bari during his career. His current contract with Palermo runs until 2012.
