Resumo
Introdução: BMI is a widely used proxy of body composition. In athletics, however, concerns exist regarding possible body composition misclassification. In particular, BMI may overestimate overweight and obesity among athletes and active working populations, such as firefighters. Objetivo: To compare the prevalence of obesity as categorized by BMI (= 30 kg/m2) with obesity prevalence by skinf old estimates of body fat percentage (BF% > 25%) in Brasilia Firefighters (CBMDF).
