Análise da saúde mental e estratégias de enfrentamento em treinadores de esportes de combate brasileiros
Resumo
Objetivo: O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a saúde mental e as estratégias de enfrentamento de 102 treinadores de esportes de combate (EC). O objetivo do estudo é identificar possíveis níveis de transtornos mentais, bem como frequência e formas de manifestação de problemas associados a este tema na amostra escolhida; examinar uma possível relação entre a saúde mental dos treinadores e seus mecanismos de enfrentamento; e verificar a possibilidade da existência de conexões entre a idade e a experiência dos treinadores de EC com seus indicadores de saúde mental e estratégias de enfrentamento. Metodologia: Para a análise, foram escolhidos os seguintes questionários: Transtorno de Ansiedade Generalizada (GAD-7), Questionário de Saúde do Paciente (PHQ-9) e Questionário de Funções de Coping (CFQ). Os instrumentos foram aplicados juntamente com um questionário sociodemográfico. As informações obtidas foram analisadas por meio do teste de coeficiente de correlação de Spearman, teste de Kruskal-Wallis, teste exato de Fisher e regressão linear simples. Resultados e discussão: Os resultados analisados revelam que os treinadores de EC apresentam valores significativos de baixa saúde mental. Não foi possível estabelecer uma correlação entre uma função de enfrentamento específica e a saúde mental. Ao analisar a relação entre experiência e idade, os resultados revelam que treinadores mais velhos e experientes foram o grupo com os menores índices de transtornos mentais e adotaram predominantemente a função de enfrentamento Focada na Emoção. Conclusão: Assim, os dados do presente estudo reforçam a necessidade de mais investigações no que diz respeito à saúde mental dos treinadores de EC e de mais estudos que busquem elucidar uma possível conexão entre idade e experiência com a manutenção de uma boa saúde mental e a capacidade de lidar com os estressores.
