Resumo

Vários termos remetem ao treinamento do controle postural. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar os exercícios englobados por tais termos. Foram analisados 423 artigos originais da base de dados Scopus, publicados até 2013, contendo os termos de interesse no título ou palavras-chave. Os termos, do mais para o menos frequente, foram: Balance training/exercise (50%), Functional training/exercise (24%), Neuromuscular training/exercise (16%), Sensorimotor training/exercise (8%) e proprioceptive training/exercise (6%). Esses termos foram usados como sinônimos, ora remetendo ao treinamento do controle postural, ora a exercícios muito distantes desse objetivo. A variedade de exercícios englobados por cada termo foi enorme. Evidencia-se a necessidade de um amplo debate conceitual.
