Resumo

Objetivou-se analisar a influência de um programa de exercícios e terapia manual sobre a dor e função em indivíduos com dor no ombro. A metodologia envolveu um estudo experimental com 20 indivíduos com dor no ombro divididos em dois grupos: Grupo Exercício (GE, n=10) em que foram aplicados exercícios para o ombro e cintura escapular e Grupo Manual (GM, n=10) em que, além dos mesmos exercícios do GE, foi aplicada a técnica de compressão isquêmica sobre os pontos gatilhos miofasciais do músculo trapézio superior. Foram avaliados a dor (escala numérica), funcionalidade (questionário DASH), amplitude de movimento (goniometria) e cinesiofobia (escala tampa). Para análise estatística foi utilizado o Software Statistical Package for the Social Science versão 20.0 (SPSS Inc, Chicago, IL, USA) com o teste ANOVA, considerando dois fatores (grupo x tempo) para diferenças intra e entre grupos. Foi adotado nível de significância de 5% (p<0,05). Como resultados, houve diferença entre os grupos no tempo pós somente para a variável dor no grupo GM (p=0,05), porém sem atingir a diferença mínima clinicamente importante. Nas demais variáveis ambos os grupos melhoram, sem diferença entre grupos. Já na análise intra grupo o GE mostrou diferença entre o tempo pré e follow-up somente para a variável dor (p=0,05), enquanto o GM não apresentou diferença. Assim, a adição da terapia manual é capaz de influenciar somente a variável dor em curto/ médio prazo, porém sem a diferença mínima clinicamente importante.
