Efeitos do ciclismo tandem sobre as capacidades físicas, qualidade de vida e estado de humor de pessoas com deficiência visual

Resumo
O ciclismo tandem é uma modalidade adaptada que oferece benefícios significativos para pessoas com deficiência visual, envolvendo aspectos físicos e psicológicos. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar os efeitos de 12 semanas de ciclismo tandem nas capacidades físicas, qualidade de vida e estado de humor de 25 adultos com deficiência visual, utilizando o Brockport Physical Fitness Test, o SF-36 e o BRUMS. Os resultados indicaram melhorias significativas na força muscular, com aumentos no número de abdominais e flexões de braço, além de melhorias na capacidade aeróbia. No quesito qualidade de vida, houve avanços nos domínios de Capacidade Funcional e Limitação por Aspectos Físicos. Em relação ao estado de humor, foram observadas reduções nos níveis de raiva, confusão e tensão, e um aumento no vigor. No entanto, não foram registradas mudanças significativas na composição corporal e flexibilidade. Esses resultados sugerem que o ciclismo tandem pode ser uma estratégia eficaz para promover a saúde física e emocional de pessoas com deficiência visual, reforçando a importância das atividades inclusivas.
