Ética e futebol no Brasil: argumentos para reflexão Marcelo Weishaupt PRONI O propósito deste artigo é fazer uma breve reflexão sobre a ética no futebol. Três perguntas balizam tal reflexão: i) quais os princípios éticos predominantes no campo esportivo no País? ii) o futebol tem desempenhado, no Brasil, a função de transmissão de valores educativos e de afirmação de condutas civilizadas? e iii) o futebol tem contribuído como referência para a construção de uma nação mais democrática e socialmente justa? Para examinar tais questões procura-se, inicialmente, esclarecer o significado amplo da palavra "ética". Em seguida, mostra-se que a ética esportiva não corresponde a um corpo unitário de princípios e condutas. Na seqüência, são apontadas algumas contradições entre a ética do futebol escolar e a ética do futebol profissional. A argumentação procura, então, indicar que a produção e a decodificação do espetáculo futebolístico no País alimentam uma ética utilitária. Mais à frente, examina-se como o discurso da "moralização" do futebol brasileiro, na década de 1990, orientou-se pela lógica do mercado. Então, são exploradas novas frentes de debate em torno da ética no futebol atual. Ao final, considerando que o futebol profissional fornece modelos de conduta social, o artigo coloca em discussão os dilemas da ética esportiva veiculada pelo futebol-espetáculo. Palavras-chave: futebol - ética - esporte -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The purpose of this article is to offer a brief reflection about the ethics at the football. Three questions orientate this reflection: i) what are the stronger ethical principles at the sport field in Brazil?; ii) does the football have executed the function as transmission of educational values and affirmation of civilized behaviors in Brazil?; iii) does the Brazilian football have stimulated the building of a more democratic nation and the transition to a fair society? The article examines, initially, the large meaning from the word "ethics". After, it shows that the sport ethics does not correspond to unitary body of principles and behaviors. At the sequence, it appoints a few contradictions between the ethics from the scholar football and the ethics from the professional football. The argumentation denotes, then, that the creation and the codification of the football spectacle fortify the utilitarian ethics in Brazil. More ahead, the article examines how the discourse about the "moralization" of the Brazilian football was orientated by the market logic. Then, news fronts of discussion are explored, exploring the different ethics of the football. At finish, whereas that the professional football supplies patterns of social behavior, the article it places under discussion the dilemmas from the sport ethics diffused by the football spectacle.
