Resumo

: Introduction - Gymnastics for All activities arrived in the United States along with many immigrant groups such as the German Turners and the Czech Sokols. From these roots, Americans have continued to enjoy activities within these organizations as well as through USA Gymnastics. American Sokol - The American Sokol was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1865, just three years after its formation in Prague. Using the moto, Physical Fitness through Gymnastics and the principles of co-founder Miroslav Tyrs, the American Sokol has continued its activities throughout the United States for over 150 years. Gymnastics for All is the basis for all activity and the American Sokol regularly showcases this through local and national events. The World Sokol Federation also regularly holds events. Current GFA Activities within USA Gymnastics - Many clubs across the United States regularly participate in Gymnastics for All by hosting exhibitions, performing at local festivals, and end of year shows. Clubs also have the opportunity to participate in Gymnastics for All with USA Gymnastics through local, national and international events. Each year, USA Gymnastics hosts the USA Gymnastics, Gymnastics for All National Championships and GymFest.
