Múltiplas perspectivas sobre os Youth Olympic Games: uma pesquisa de revisão

Resumo
O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar a mais recente proposta do Comitê Olímpico Internacional para o engajamento da juventude em esportes, os Youth Olympic Games – YOG. Esta é uma pesquisa de revisão bibliográfica que utilizou como fonte de consulta as bases Google Acadêmico, Portal de Busca Integrada – PBI da Universidade de São Paulo e Olympic World Library, vinculada ao Comitê Olímpico Internacional. Os achados indicaram que os atletas têm a atenção voltada, principalmente, para as atividades esportivas ou para aquelas atividades que tenham impacto direto sobre a melhoria de sua performance. Atletas de diferentes continentes manifestaram percepções singulares sobre a participação nos YOG, que foram do desafio da conciliação da carreira de estudante e atleta ao desejo de sair do país para ampliar as chances esportivas. Esta pesquisa não teve a pretensão de chegar a uma conclusão sobre o impacto desse evento nos atletas e espectadores, mas de perceber, por meio da diversidade dos apontamentos, a contribuição dos YOG para o cenário esportivo mundial.
