Introduction
Rhythmic-Sports Gymnastics is classified in group of sports of aesthetic and co-ordination characteristics. The best
unity of music and motion is performed in this branch of sports. Because of that, the rhythmic gymnasts (RG) must
posses the very good sense of rhythm and motion, as well as a musicality. The basic aim of this research is to determine
of the musical abilities at different competition categories of rhythmic gymnasts (RG) at the national level.

Methods
Performance profiling developed by Butler (1989) according Taylor &Taylor [3] assists in identifying and
understanding rhythmic gymnasts’ strengths and areas in need of further development. It is a visual representation of
musical abilities in different level of rhythmic gymnasts. The complete sample of examine (69 participants) consisted of
24 Young junior, 22 Junior and 23 Senior Rhythmic Gymnasts they took part at the state level of competition.
Seashore’s test was applied to estimate the elementary musical abilities, which include 6 parts for the evaluation of
peach, loudness and time of tone, rhythm, timbre and tonal memory test.

Results
The results were analyzed with basic descriptive and comparative statistics methods (t-test, F-test and MANOVA
-multiple analysis of variance). Special statistic procedure was carried out (profile analysis) to establish the
homogeneity and position of the groups.

Discussion / Conclusions
Applied parallel analysis of variance as well as MANOVA (F=.000; p=1.000) do not confirmed statistically significant
differences between examined groups, in the whole system of musical variables. The best homogeneity of results was in
the Senior (92.66%), then in the Young Junior (89.48%) and the lowest one is in the Junior category of rhythmic
gymnasts (88.50%). The applied statistics procedures point out that only one variable (TIME) differ significantly the
senior and junior competition categories of rhythmic gymnasts. The position between junior and young junior RG was
closer (.29) then between senior and junior RG (.52).
