Introduction
The training structure of four strokes is a new training system in swimming. It is composed of volume and load of
training from four strokes. It is noticeable to explore the elite swimmers’ rules of the training structure of four strokes.
Methods
Review, investigation and statistic analysis were used.
Results
1 there was different understanding in special event for Chinese coaches, which may exert adverse influence on special
event training. 2 Chinese elite swimmers’ volume and intensity of load in training were much less lower that those of
elites abroad, which showed significant difference (Fig 1). Moreover, Chinese elites were inclined to select more equal
model in main event arrangement (Fig 2). 3 The percentage of traditional main event training load is different at every
training period obviously for Chinese elites, while there was no difference in main event training for elites abroad.
Conclusions
1 Special event training can be defined as a kind of training which is similar to the competition in strokes, speed, energy
metabolism and stress. 2 insufficient training in main event stokes became a factor to influence the improvement of
elite swimmers’ skill. 3 we should pay more attention to a phenomenon that there was no significant difference in load
of main event training for elites abroad in training program by stages.
