Introduction
While the 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing, Chinese youths should have all-round development according to the spirit of Olympic. Based on the physical fitness records of 1000 students who were taught in Beijing Union University from 1990 to 2000, the paper focuses on some deficiencies of physical fitness about Chinese youths at the age of 18 to 20, which may be used as an important reference to the physical education.
Methods
The method adopted is the statistical analysis based on the physique data of 1000 students, who were taught by the author from 1990 to 2000.
Results
The study reveals that the endurance and balance sense of Chinese youths are lower than those of European and Japanese youths, which should be emphasized and improved.
Discussion/Conclusion
The study has aroused gym teachers’ great attention in Beijing Union University. Now they are trying to take some relevant trainings to strengthen students’ physical fitness.
