Purpose
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks volleyball training on some motoric parameters on youth athletes.
Material & Methods
The subjects were consist of nine youth vollleyball players whose ages were approximately 14.6±0.52 years. In this study, Takei digital vertical jump meter, prosport TMRESC 2200 multigate telemetry chronograph (for sprint time), newtest 1000 (reaction time), Takei Grip-D strength dinamometer, Takei back strength dinamometer, tanita body fat analyser, takei flexion-D standing trunk flexionmeter were used for collecting the data. The data were collected in three levels; (1. level: before the start of training programme, 2. level: 4. week of the programme, 3.level: 8. week of the programme). The collected data were analysed by descriptive statistic technics, one way ANOVA and Tukey tests. . Significance was set at the p<0,05 level. Data was analysed by SPSS for Windows.
Results
One way ANOVA indicated significant differences at following parameters; body fat percentages (F: 3,896, p<0,05), leg strength (F: 18,273, p<0,05), left hand auditory reaction time (F: 6,102, p<0,05), 10 meter sprint time (F: 10,825, p<0,05). These differences caused by 1. measurement for body fat %, 2. measurement for left hand auditory reaction time and 1. measurement for 10 meter sprint time.
Conclusions
These results showed that, suggested significance differences observed in parameters which have considered as important for performance of youth volleyball players. Besides, increasing training periods may improve all other motorical parameters.
