This position will contribute to a successful exercise physiology research program through success in obtaining externally funded grants and publication in peer reviewed journals. Successful applicants will have expertise in muscle metabolism, vascular function, exercise intolerance or related areas. The position will report to Paul D. Thompson, M.D. whose research focuses on cardiac problems in athletes, genetic factors affecting the response to exercise, the effects of exercise on cardiovascular risk factors, and the muscle and neurological side effects of statins. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in writing grants, progress reports and research articles. The candidate must also have strong statistical and analytical skills and experience working with large datasets.
