Cevnautas, essa revista de gestão certamente interressa aos especialistas de marketing. Laercio

Human Kinetics is pleased to announce a new journal, Case Studies in Sport Management, to be launched in Spring 2012. Case Studies in Sport Management is a peer-reviewed journal focusing on the publication of teaching case studies related to the sport management discipline. The purpose of Case Studies in Sport Management is to enhance pedagogy in the discipline through the dissemination of teaching cases across varied topics consistent with the COSMA Common Professional Component topical areas, including sport management, marketing, finance, law, etc... The online journal will serve as a searchable library of cases instructors can utilize to incorporate the case method of learning into their classrooms.

What are Teaching Case Studies?

A teaching case study is a narrative description of a situation facing a sport organization, whether real or simulated. The reader is presented a set of facts, historical context, data, and related information and is charged with assessing the situation, generating and analyzing potential solutions, and finally identifying what he or she believes is the optimal solution to the problem, or problems, presented in the case. Teaching with the case method allows students to begin to think and act as industry professionals in roles similar to what they someday aspire to fill. The case method provides an action-oriented teaching and learning environment, allowing students to develop and enhance skills such as critical thinking, strategic decision making, creativity, teamwork, and leadership.

Call for Papers

The deadline for case submission for inclusion in the Spring 2012 launch of Case Studies in Sport Management is November 7, 2011. Submissions after this date will be published on a rolling basis upon acceptance. Cases should be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word 2007 format (.docx) to the Editor, Chad McEvoy, at cdmcevo@ilstu.edu. Cases should follow APA 6th Edition guidelines, be double-spaced, use a standard 12-point font, and utilize one-inch margins on all sides throughout. Cases should include a title page with the title of the case, 3-5 keywords describing the case, authors’ names and institutional affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author. The narrative of the case should be preceded by an abstract of no more than 200 words, and followed with a series of discussion questions, and then subsequently by supporting materials to be used in the case, such as tables, charts, and exhibits. Finally, teaching notes should be included with advice for instructors as to the target audience of the case, the learning objectives, the particular theories and/or frameworks being utilized, and strategies for best using the case in the classrooms. Case study submissions should range between 10 and 20 pages in length, exclusive of supplemental materials, while the length of the teaching notes may vary. Submitting a case for review indicates the author(s) have not concurrently submitted their manuscript to another journal, agree to transfer copyright to Human Kinetics upon acceptance, and acknowledge following proper institutional review board procedures at their respective institutions, as applicable. Authors are also responsible for obtaining permissions for copyrighted work. Case submissions meeting these criteria will be subject to blind review, with reviews returned to authors in a timely manner.
