Two Tenure–Track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Appts. - Human Movement Sciences

The Department of Human Movement Sciences invites applications for two tenure–track positions at the ranks of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, effective August 2012. The Department is seeking outstanding candidates whose research utilizes the social sciences to study health and/or performance in the area(s) of physical activity and/or sport. We anticipate using at least one position to complement the existing psychology focus in the department.

Successful candidates will be required to; develop an active research agenda; seek extramural funding; instruct undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of psychosocial or behavioral aspects of health, physical activity, sport or related fields; advise graduate students; and engage in university and scholarly/professional service activities.

Minimum Qualifications include: Ph.D. in a social science field with an emphasis in psychosocial influences of health, physical activity, sport, or closely related field; evidence of an active research record; teaching experience; and commitment to scholarly/professional organizations. Preference will be given to candidates with post–doctoral training and an extramural funding record, those committed to multidisciplinary work, and if an applicant for the psychology position, those eligible for, or currently holding licensure in counseling or clinical psychology.
