Resumo
Physical literacy is a concept that asks educators to celebrate each individual’s capabilities and to use these as a foundation for learning and teaching that encourages everyone to pursue living meaningful and healthy lives through physical activity, sport, recreation, and leisure (YDO, 2020). Individuals learn to move and move to learn, and the concept of physical literacy recognizes that humans learn and move for different reasons, whether for survival, social connection, or self-actualization. The importance of physical literacy becomes apparent as individuals engage with the world and learn to move in relevant, meaningful, and enjoyable ways. This is not just for health reasons but also to flourish and gain pleasure and a sense of wellbeing from their everyday lives.
