The olympic movement and the spirit of peking university

13 July 2001, Beijing of China got the right of holding the 29th Olympic game in 2008. That is to say the great game can be held in China which has the most popular in the world .The Olympic games will have a new development.

Education is the soul of the Olympic Movement. The Olympic Charter said that Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy found in effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles." The Olympic movement is not a kind of sport in common meaning, it is a philosophy of life and a kind of life style.

What the Olympic movement try to go after is a lofty ideal which can make human and the world consummate. As a carrier of showing the humanity, the Olympic Movement create a good environment of free, equality and competition. The value of this kind of environment is to educate people tolerantly.
