* The list of the applications for the next AIESEP Board of Directors is available on the members’ corner (see Information). Several reports were also posted on that page as well as the last list of the members that will be allowed to vote during the General Assembly. Do not forget that proxy forms are available for those who would not attend to the 2014 World Congress (February 12, 2014).
 
* The 2014 AIESEP World Congress will be held in Auckland (NZL) February 10-13. The theme of the Congress is “Educating for active healthy citizens.” The program is now available. More info on: www.aiesep2014.com
 
* Additionally, there will be a Pre-Congress Symposium before the AIESEP World Congress on February 9, 2014 in Auckland, NZL organized by the TGfU Special Interest Group “Using TGfU to promote active and healthy citizens”. This special one-day symposium will focus on the latest research and advances in teaching games framed by TGfU approaches. It provides a special opportunity for teachers to mix with leading TGfU experts from around the world. For more information please visit www.tgfu.info   
 
* On 16-17 February 2014 (immediately after the AIESEP World congress in Auckland), the University of Canterbury (NZL) will organize an International Symposium on Physical Education & Sport Studies ‘Physical Education and Sport: Current dilemmas and future possibilities’. Visit www.education.canterbury.ac.nz/sportpe for further details.
 
* First call for the 2014 AIESEP Specialist Seminar that will be organized in Timisoara (Romania) on November 7-9, 2014. The theme of this specialist seminar is ‘The Pedagogical Side of Outdoor and Leisure Activities’.  Its purpose is to bring together experts in sport pedagogy, as well as specialists involved in outdoor and leisure activities, in order to create a space for reflection and discussion on how to adapt to society’s increasing interest in this area.  The provisional program is available on http://www.aiesep.ulg.ac.be/pages/future_event.php. Jobs & Grants
 
* A full time post-doctoral position is available at the department of Rehabilitation Sciences of the KU Leuven, in the research domain of Adapted Physical Activity, with a specific focus on the relationship between cognition and sports performance. The project will consist to share the responsibility about the main purposes of the research unit; more specific, the development and optimization of a generic and sport-specific (athletics) test battery to measure sport-intelligence. Conferences & General Information
 
* On Thursday 23 January 2014, the city of Antwerp (Belgium) and the Vrije Universiteit Brussels will organize a conference as part of Antwerp European Capital of Sports 2013. This conference will be an opportunity to learn more about the latest developments in the social value of sports in a European urban context. A general framework of sports and its social purposes will be set. Furthermore, we will look at good practices from Europe. During round-table discussions, the participants get the opportunity to go more into detail on the subject and to exchange ideas. * The 2014 ACFF Congress "Football & Recherches" will be held in CAEN (France) on May 26-28. The theme of the Congress is “Décision Making  in Football” The congress program is now available at http://acff-recherche-football.fr/4.html

* The ICCE Global Coaches House at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, 26 July to Saturday 2 August 2014. It will offer three types of activities: (1) Networking and Social Interaction (a location to meet friends, colleagues, coaches and business professionals from other countries to share common themes during The Games, and for coaching groups to conduct meetings); (2) Coach Education and Development (a programme of seminars, presentations and workshops featuring leading coaches, sport scientists and business leaders); (3) Announcements, launches and media interviews (in addition to coach interviews and the recording of coach presentations, a number of announcements and programme launches are planned). * On Sept 2nd – 5th, 2014, The European Educational Research Association (EERA) will hold its annual conference in Porto, Portugal. The theme of the conference is, "The Past, the Present and Future of Educational Research in Europe". The Sport Pedagogy Network within EERA has been established to provide a forum for European researchers working in the academic spaces where education and sport come together. ‘Sport Pedagogy’ focuses on learning in, about and through sport/physical activity in a range of contexts including the school, community and family. It includes physical education, coaching science/studies, and relevant aspects of sport policy. The purpose of this Network is to share research expertise in order to develop new knowledge and understandings that can improve the experiences of participants wherever they engage in sport and physical activity. The Network is also planning to use the conference to facilitate international collaboration in developing bidding teams in preparation for grant applications for the EU’s Horizon 2020 funding framework. The Network will use the conference to explore, consider and assist the construction of research networks that can then develop further to respond to Horizon 2020 research calls. Senior international scholars from the broad field of sport pedagogy have agreed to take part in symposia that will consider the potential role of sport and exercise in addressing global social issues.
