Tecnologia no Esporte

Cevnautas da Tecnologia, por dois motivos repasso esta nota: 1) A pertinência do tema para a nosa Comunidade Tecnologia no Esporte; 2) A forma exemplar como estão divulgando, semanalmente, o congresso mais importante de Ciências do Esporte, que é realizada a cada 4 anos no país que sedia a edição dos Jogos Olímpicos (quem será que está tratando disso para o congresso noo Rio?) ICSEMIS ASKS IF BLADE TECHNOLOGY IS UNFAIR –
How far is technology fair in sport?

Innovative materials technology has provided a major impetus to the development of lower limb prostheses for Paralympic running events. Indeed, some observers now feel that the technology has advanced to such a degree that unfairness in the T42 and T44 classes now exists. Presenters at ICSEMIS will examine both the mechanics and the social science informing this debate and make proposal for the fairness in the future. Another related paper examines the furore over swimsuit technology, this time from a philosophical perspective

ICSEMIS is the International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport. It takes place from 19-23 July 2012 in Glasgow, UK and is organised by the International Olympic Committee, International Paralympic Committee, ICSSPE and FIMS. Officially affiliated to the summer Olympics and held every four years in the host country of the games, ICSEMIS will be the Sports Science convention in 2012, taking place just days before the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Games.

ICSEMIS will include over 2,000 research abstracts from 65 different countries and will welcome 2,500 delegates from every professional sector and academic discipline associated with sport, physical education, exercise, physical activity and sports medicine.

Researchers, students and practitioners from every branch of sport and exercise are invited to attend and to share this unique opportunity for multi-and interdisciplinary scientific exchange.
